Who Won ‘The Challenge 36’ Finale? What’s Coming Up In The Next Season?

The 36th season of The Challenge came to a close after a tight final round, with CT Tamburello and Amber Borzotra emerging champions.

Borzotra’s victory in The Challenge: Double Agents is significant in and of itself, as she not only won the series on her first attempt, but it also represents a significant milestone as the first African-American champion in nearly a decade.

Without a doubt, the final was one of the most difficult of all time; not to mention the harsh weather in Iceland, where the final season was shot in the midst of a hurricane.

This season of the show debuted in December 2020 and included 30 contestants at the start.

After a slew of heartbreaking eliminations and disqualifications, only Tamburello and Borzotra, Kam Williams and Cory Wharton, Leroy Garrett and Nany Gonzalez, and Fessy Shafaat and Kaycee Clark made it to the season’s popular finale.

In terms of the upcoming season, a Twitter spoiler account recently revealed details regarding season 37, including cast members and the show’s filming location. MTV has yet to confirm this, but if the reports are true, fans can expect to see a lot of recognizable faces this season, including more Big Brother alums and even some new opponents.

As is customary, former cast members make cameo appearances alongside newcomers, but this time the veterans outnumber the newbies. Nany Gonzalez, Nelson Thomas, Amanda Garcia, Nam Vo, Tori Deal, Devin Walker, Liv Jawando, Fessy Shafaat, Ashley Mitchell, Cory Wharton, Jay Starrett, Big T, Josh Martinez, Kaycee Clark, Aneesa Ferreira, and Kyle Christi are among the cast members that are likely to return to the show.

Rookies like Mark Byron, Emy Alupei, Michele Fitzgerald, Ed Eason, Jeremiah White, Michelle Schubert, Kelz Dyke, CT Tamburello, Darrell Taylor, and Jordan Wiseley will also make an impact. Love Island, Big Brother, Survivor, Too Hot To Handle, and The Circle have all featured these candidates in the past.

Season 37’s pre-production is currently beginning, according to the spoiler account, with April 11 being the first day of mandatory quarantine for the whole cast. MTV is apparently planning to hire more cast members than they require in case someone becomes infected with the illness. Despite the fact that Double Agents is shot in Iceland, the following season will be shot in Croatia, so contestants will no longer be exposed to such extreme weather.

It should come as no surprise that contestants are frequently forced to withdraw from the tournament due to injury, therefore the quarantine alternates are more likely to be swapped in this time around.

With the showing of the season finale, Double Agents is coming to an end, and All-Stars is gaining steam, with the commencement of season 37 production.
