When Charles Manson was born, his mother was carrying twins

Charles Milles Maddox was given the name Manson on November 12, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born at the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Kathleen Manson-Bower-Cavender, née Maddox (1918-1973), who was only 16 at the time.

Charles Mason was unaware of his natural father

According to some court records, Colonel Walker Henderson Scott Sr. (1910–1954) of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, was Manson’s biological father. A paternity lawsuit brought by Kathleen Maddox ended in an agreed-upon decision in 1937.

Scott was a con man who operated in the neighborhood mills. Despite the fact that “Colonel” was just his given name, he frequently misled Manson’s mother about his military rank.

Manson and classmate Blackie Nielson got a gun and stole a car just a few days after moving into Boys Town. They subsequently started carrying out armed robberies. Two weeks later, during a nighttime raid on a Peoria store, Manson was arrested again. He was required by the court to enroll at the rigorous reform institution Indiana Boys School.

Other students at the school allegedly battered and raped Manson frequently. Analysts hypothesize that this is when he first became insane. After eventually fleeing the school with a few other pupils, Young Manson started robbing gas stations and trying to drive to California in stolen cars. However, they would run into the law in Utah. The National Training School for Boys in Washington, D.C. is where Manson next headed. His IQ was above average at 109.

The First Arrest of Charles Manson

Manson attended Natural Bridge Honor Camp in October 1951. He committed an at-knife-point rape two years later in January 1953 and was apprehended. Manson next traveled to Petersburg, Virginia’s Federal Reformatory.

More “eight significant disciplinary infractions, including three involving homosexual conduct,” were committed by Kathleen’s son there. He was now frequently welcomed in Chillicothe, Ohio. In May 1954, he was released and moved in with his aunt and uncle in McMechen.

He wed a waitress at a hospital

The future criminal, who was born in Cincinnati, wed Rosalie Jean Willis, a hospital waitress, in January 1955. After three months, authorities in Los Angeles detained him for car theft in Ohio. Manson was charged federally and given a three-year prison term at Terminal Island in Los Angeles in March 1956.

Charles worked as a part-time auto mechanic and stole cars to support himself and Rosalie. While Charles was incarcerated, Rosalie gave birth to Charles Manson Jr. Rosalie was living with another guy, his mother told him in prison in March 1957.

Charles Manson Jr., Willis and Charles’ first child, later legally changed his name to Jay White. To disassociate himself from his father’s heritage, he allegedly did this. Reports from All That’s Interesting In 1993, White pulled over along a lonely Kansas roadway.

He ended his own life there by using a gun. People speculate that White’s embarrassment over his friendship with his criminal father had a role in the only child of Willis and Manson taking his own life.
