Pilar’s Life Was Changed By Deion Sanders
In the mid-1990s, while working on the TV show In Da House, model Pilar met Deion Sanders, a professional football player. Soon after, the couple decided to see each other, and they couldn’t stop seeing each other.
After being in a relationship for some time, Deion and Sanders decided to call their partnership husband-wife and married in 1999. Shilo Sanders (2001), Shedeur Sanders (2003), and Shelomi Sanders (2003) were the couple’s three children (2004).
For more than a decade, everything about the Sanders family was picture-perfect until Pilar chose to quit the relationship and reveal the true face of Deion, who she claimed was egotistical. Pillar and Deion divorced in 2012 after 13 allegedly brutal years of marriage. However, the claims she made against him of being abusive to her were not proven in court.
Deion Sanders was granted primary custody of the couple’s three children throughout the divorce proceedings. However, Pilar was dissatisfied with the custody arrangement she had with her ex-husband, so she disobeyed the judge’s orders by failing to turn over one of the children as required under the custody agreement. Her ex-husband testified at least 16 times that she violated the visitation plan.
Pilar, he claimed, kept the children for more than a week longer than the program allowed in one case. She was sentenced to seven days in jail in December 2012 for contempt of court and was placed on 12-month probation for violating the court’s order.
Following a contentious divorce, Deion was ordered to pay Pilar $10,500 in child support per month after regaining full custody of her 17-year-old son. While one daughter and the other son alternate living with their father and mother, they are tied to time.
Their divorce was finally completed in June 2013.
