We all know Julia Roberts has a famous niece, Emma Roberts, who is also an actress, but do you know anything about her children?
Julia is the proud mother of her twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, as well as her youngest child, Henry. She has three children with her husband, Danny Moder, whom she married in 2002.
The Pretty Woman star became a mother for the first time in November 2004, when she gave birth to twins with Danny. “Mother and babies are doing great,” her publicist at the time, Marcy Engelman, said. Julia gave birth to her third child with Danny less than three years later, in June 2007. “All of the Moders are doing fantastic,” her publicist stated once more.
Julia didn’t realize how much her children resembled her and her husband until they were older. “There’s no way to describe it without sounding sappy or ridiculous because everything in my mind ends with an exclamation point,” the Oscar winner said in December 2017 to InStyle. “And the thing is, we have these three human beings who are a perfect reflection of our affection for one another.”
Julia’s children are among her greatest achievements. Even though she’s “proud of them,” the mother of three recognizes that parenting can be difficult at times. “I tried carrying someone up to bed the other night, and it was just… okay, you’re going to have to get on your feet and sleepwalk because I just can’t get up the stairs,” she joked.
When it comes to raising their children, Julia and Danny place a high value on keeping their children out of the spotlight. Because the Notting Hill actress values her alone time with her children, the Hollywood couple relocated from the bustling city of Los Angeles to San Francisco. A friend of Julia and Danny’s revealed the move was all for their children around the time the couple purchased an $8.3 million estate in the city’s affluent Presidio Heights neighborhood.

“She wanted her children, who are growing up so quickly, to have the experience of a city with a different energy and vibe,” a close friend told Closer exclusively in June 2020. “Her children are not movie star children in San Francisco, where no one cares who your mother is.”
On their 17th birthday in November 2021, Hazel and Phinnaeus received sweet Instagram shout-outs from their parents. Julia captioned a throwback photo of herself with the twins when they were newborns, “17 of the Sweetest years of life.” Danny’s tribute to the kids was equally touching, as he shared a photo of the sibling duo enjoying breakfast together while looking all grown up. “There are 17 of these rabble-rousers today.” “Thank you for supporting me as I navigated fatherhood,” he wrote alongside the photo.
Julia revealed in an April 2022 interview with Extra how she felt about her twins leaving for college in the fall.
“I mean, it makes me a little dizzy.” “I mean, I’m completely excited for them,” she admitted. “It’s very exciting, and I wasn’t fortunate enough to have a college experience.” So seeing how it’s going for them is fascinating. And, yeah, I’m just happy for them.”
Closer reported the same month that Julia was “so proud of her children.” The siblings will attend the same school, which many believe is the University of California, Berkeley. “One is studying fine arts, and the other is studying computer and information sciences,” said the insider.

Julia and Danny’s only child, Hazel, was born on November 28, 2004. Because the parents are very private about their children, fans rarely get an update on Hazel or her younger brothers. However, the Erin Brockovich star revealed that when her daughter was 12, she cut her hair and donated it to Wigs for Kids.
“That’s a big deal for a girl who’s almost 13 and has this cascading blonde hair that gets a lot of compliments,” Julia told InStyle in 2017. “But she’s so brave and good.” She sees it differently.”
Though she has remained out of the spotlight for the majority of her life, Hazel may be preparing to follow in her parent’s footsteps. The blonde beauty made her red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival in July 2021. Hazel looked stunning in a high-end ensemble as she cheered on her father at the premiere of his film Flag Day.
Phinnaeus, who arrived on November 28, 2004, is an athletic young man who enjoys surfing. Danny has posted several photos of his son surfing on Instagram.
In addition to surfing, Phinnaeus enjoys skateboarding. When the teen was spotted with Danny on a rare outing in Los Angeles in June, he carried a skateboard in one hand and some gear in a backpack.
Henry, Julia and Danny’s youngest child, was born on June 18, 2007. Henry, like his older brother, is a very athletic child. His father posted a video of him doing a backflip on a trampoline in May 2019. He captioned the Instagram post, “Henry tripping.”
Aside from participating in extreme sports such as BMX and surfing, Henry is an absolute pro at riding his skateboard. Danny posted a video of his son performing a cool trick on a ramp to commemorate his latest birthday in June 2021. “Turning 14… in the air… summers turn.” In the caption, he wrote, “Ya Henry.”
