Hollowell-Dhar was born in the California city of Berkeley. His father moved from India. He got his stage name from the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, also called “paradise on earth”.

His singles “Jammu” and “Kashmir” are also named after states. He was initially a part of the hip-hop production duo, The Cataracs with David Singer-Vine, releasing hits such as; “Like a G6” with Far East Movement, “Bass Down Low” with DEV, and Selena Gomez’s second hit off her debut album “Stars Dance.”

Professional Career of Kshmr

Hollowell-Har began producing electro-house music under the alias KSHMR in 2014.  He charted on Beatport under this name. Among Hollowell- notable Dhar’s collaborations are with Firebeatz, R3hab, Tisto, Bassjackers Hardwell, Carnage, Timmy Trumpet, and Dallas.

Hollowell-first Dhar’s single, “Megalodon,” was released on Spinnin’ Records on February 24, 2014. Furthermore, his and R3hab’s collaboration resulted in the single “Karate”. Hollowell-Dhar gained attention after his single “Burn,” a collaboration with Dallas, debuted in the top forty on Beatport and eventually reached No. 1. The song is free from three labels: Revealed Recordings, Spinnin’ Records, and Extremist Records. Respect to them, as well as my good friend Timmy Trumpet, who stopped by and brought his magic.”

On June 16, 2017, Spinnin’ Records released “Harder,” a collaboration between KSHMR and Tisto.  “Festival of Lights,” a collaboration with Maurice West, was the primary free song available through KSHMR’s label, Dharma Worldwide.”Carry Maine Home started with the drop melody, and I was afraid I wouldn’t find a vocal I loved just as much, but Jake Reese and co-writer Joren van der Voort blew me away,” he explained.

On July 22, 2018, he released the Greek-influenced single “Opa” with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and on August 3, 2018, he released “Neverland” with 7 Skies, which combined the genres of bounce and big area house. The duo previously collaborated on the music creation platform Splice on a sample pack titled Symphony-Serum Hybrid Orchestra. On August 24, 2018, he released his next single, “Good Vibes Soldier,” which was co-produced with Israeli reggaeton and rap artists.

On November 2, 2018, he released “Magic,” a big room single with uncredited vocals by Vassy. Dancing Astronaut praised the track for its resemblance to David Guetta’s “Bad” vocals and as a return to KSHMR’s older-era sound.KSHMR revealed that “Magic” was originally produced with Adrian Lux two years prior, but the duo failed to steer the track in the right direction at the time. Lux eventually gave the song to au courant, but KSHMR continued to act on it until its final release.
