The ability to be in the right place at the right time
Szohr had intended to pursue a career as an interior designer, but her agent persuaded her to audition. That’s when she made her acting debut in an episode of My Wife and Kids in 2003. Jessica was on her way to New York a few days later. She was originally supposed to appear in three episodes, but due to the popularity of her role, she became a series regular. The blockbuster drama series pushed Szohr into a celebrity, garnering her a role in The Internship, a Shawn Levy-directed Fox comedy starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, after six successful seasons. She was given the role of a stripper. Szohr even took pole dancing lessons to prepare for her role.
