The Professional Career of Jason Kessler

Jason is best known for organizing the Unite the Right march, a pro-White protest over the city’s intention to remove a statue of Confederate general Robert E. Lee. He is currently the President of Unity and Security for America, a grassroots movement dedicated to the defense of Western civilization. He has also been associated with Occupy Wall Street and has backed President Barack Obama.

Three people were killed during the rally, including Heather Heyer, a paralegal. On August 12, 2017, a Dodge Challenger driven by James Alex Fields Jr. attacked a throng of counter-protesters assembled to oppose a rally of white nationalists and other right-wing organizations, killing Heyer and injuring 19 others. He decides to sue the city of Charlottesville, Virginia, for their handling of the August 2019 event.

In 2005, he was convicted of theft, obstructing justice, and a series of failures to appear and register, as well as multiple driving offenses and tickets. On May 14, 2017, he was detained for disruptive behavior at a demonstration.
