Carter and her lawyer husband are said to have married in a small wedding ceremony in 2005. The former marriage has two children: Mattai Jones, a daughter, and Cabral Jones, a son.
Despite having been married for 13 years, the pair chose to divorce. Their divorce was finalized in September after they separated in May 2018.
