While filming Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Anderson met her TV writer husband, Michael Sloan. Sloan contributed to the show’s writing team. From Sloan’s prior work on The Equalizer, Anderson was familiar with her. She even claimed that Sloan’s writing was the reason she agreed to play the character on Hitchcock.
After dating for a year, Anderson and Sloan were wed in 1990. The couple’s first child, a daughter named Piper Sloan, is born the following year. When asked why she stopped acting as her family grew, Anderson said that she slowed down while organizing their wedding.
She wanted to be there for her baby once their daughter was born and stated, “I didn’t want to miss out on anything.” The actress added that she didn’t want her child to be associated with Melissa Anderson.
Griffin Sloan, Anderson and Sloan’s second child, was born in 1996. She hardly ever performed while raising her children. The actress said in a 2010 interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that she kept a low profile on purpose because she didn’t want children to be exposed to the celebra-mania.
“Both have came out normal,” she continued. Additionally, they have no interest in acting.

Today’s Life of Melissa Sue Anderson
While she was working on 10.5: Apocalypse in 2002, the family relocated to Montreal. In 2007, Anderson, her husband, and their two kids received Canadian citizenship. Anderson still resides in the Montreal region, as far as is known.
The two children of Anderson are now all adults. Her son graduated from college in 2017, and her daughter got married in 2016.
