At the age of 15, she was sexually assaulted
The CNN reporter, who is 50 years old, is outspoken about her convictions and never hesitates to express her displeasure with injustice. In the aftermath of Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual assault case, Powers published her tale in the news column in support of the victim, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.
She recounted her own abuse story when she was 15 years old when describing what a sexual assault victim goes through. In her piece, Powers wrote:
After being given various alcoholic concoctions by older boys, I passed out at a party and awoke with my shirt off and a popular senior basketball player on top of me. I was dizzy and bewildered, and I couldn’t recall anything from the night before. When I inquired about what had occurred, the boy explained that we had simply hugged, but he couldn’t explain why my shirt was off.
The enormity of the situation only dawned on her once she returned to school a few days later and learned through a friend that she was being mocked.

“A few days later, a male classmate I was close to emerged shaken from the boys’ locker room. He claimed that when I was passed out, this youngster boasted in the locker room that he had assaulted me.
She became the brunt of jokes among classmates and suffered emotionally as a result of the incident. And, as a result of her testimony, she has publicly called for Kavanaugh to be removed from his position as a Supreme Court Judge, claiming that he is setting a bad example for teenage boys and girls. Kudos to Kirsten for standing up to injustice and even sharing her story to prove her point.
Kirsten Powers’ Failed Relationships: Once Married, Twice Heartbroken
The political commentator has experienced her fair share of adversity. Her sexual abuse was not the only horrific experience she experienced in her life; she also endured the humiliation of several unsuccessful relationships.
Powers has always been a big hit with guys, and her dating history shows that. She is gorgeous, intelligent, and beautiful, with all the proper traits. Her lover list is diverse, ranging from senators to doctors. After meeting him at a post-campaign party in 2002, she briefly dated Congressman Anthony Weiner. Weiner was a reassuring and devoted spouse to her, but their relationship was short-lived.
Kirsten’s ex-boyfriend was accused of sexual assault in 2011. She had once been close to Weiner and had always believed in him. Kirsten was upset when she learned the truth about his actions, but she kept her cool by publicly calling for his resignation from Congress during CNN’s coverage of the story.

Kirsten is unique in that she is never afraid to speak out against injustice. She discovered love again after a failed relationship, this time with a doctor. She married American surgeon Marty Mackay in 2010 after a brief dating phase.
The couple appeared to be getting along swimmingly as they were seen attending high-profile events together. Not only that, but the couple also loved their time together. However, the relationship that appeared to be OK on the outside was progressively disintegrating on the inside.
This relationship, like her previous ones, could not survive indefinitely. Due to personal issues, Kirsten and her husband chose to untie the knot in 2013. Kirsten must have been upset after two unsuccessful romances since she stayed away from the dating scene for several years.
Kirsten Powers is engaged, and her future husband is also a journalist
After a failed romance and a failed marriage, many people would have given up on their search for the proper companion. Kirsten, who was never one to give up, was still hopeful of finding love. She certainly did!
Robert Draper, author, and writer for the New York Times Magazine and National Geographic is now her blissfully engaged husband. In truth, the CNN beauty and her soon-to-be husband have already been engaged for two years, having received the ring in 2016. Not only that, but they may now be considering getting married and giving their relationship a permanent name.
And the couple isn’t afraid to flaunt their affection in front of strangers. Her fiancee-turned-boyfriend is a regular on her Instagram feed, and she refers to him as her “favorite being.”
Molly McGrath is engaged and getting married, and her new husband, date, and venue are all set. Furthermore, she is a favorite of the Draper family, with whom she shares big holidays. It appears to be a matter of when, not if, the couple will marry.
Kirsten Powers, congratulations on finding love again!
