The Professional Career of Grant Hochstein

Grant Hochstein began figure skating when he was nine years old. He rapidly became enamored with sports. Later, in 2009, he began his professional career as a junior figure skater in the 2009 U.S. Championships. He placed third in the competition and was awarded a pewter medal. Grant Hochstein participated in the ISU Junior Grand Pix in 2009-2010. He finished second at the Budapest tournament during the season. He also finished fourth in Dresden. As a result, he qualified for the final of the ISU Junior Grand Prix. He finished fifth in the competition.

Grant Hochstein finished seventh in the United States Championships the same year. He was also invited to compete in the 2010 World Junior Championships in The Hague. At the championships, he placed first in the short program and sixth in the free skate. Grant Hochstein came in fifth place overall in the competition. He was also invited to compete in Skate Canada International in 2010. He eventually came in eighth position. Later in his career, he finished 12th in both the 2011 and 2012 US Championships.

He finished 15th in the US Championship and 4th in the Eastern Sectional Figure Skating Championship during the 2012-13 season.

He competed in the National Championships in 2013-14, finishing ninth in the US Championship and first in the Eastern Section.

The next season, he competed in five international events, including the World Championships, the Four Continents Cup of China, the NHK Trophy, and the Nebelhorn Trophy. He came in fourth place in both the Cup of China and the NKH Trophy. In the 2016-17 season, he competed in five international tournaments once more. He placed third in the Nelbelhorn competition, setting a new career best in international competitions. That year, he finished third in the US Championship. On August 3, 2018, he announced his retirement from figure skating.
