Paula White Cain, the first female clergy member to deliver the presidential inaugural invocation in 2017, has been married three times. Despite having married and divorced twice, she said she had never had a husband until she met Jonathan Cain, her third husband.

The evangelical pastor and her third husband originally met in July 2010 while flying to San Antonio, Texas on the same Southwest Airlines flight. She walked into the flight with a book in her hand and dropped it directly in front of Cain.

During the three-hour flight, this tiny incident generated a dialogue between the two, which led to their learning more about each other’s life. They talked about their lives, and White even prayed for Cain, who was at the time a “displaced Catholic.”
Their attraction became stronger with each passing day, and despite their 16-year age gap, they began dating.

White married Cain about four years after their initial encounter. In an October 2019 interview with Life Today TV, Cain disclosed that he and White had married three times. They tied the knot three times: once for the Father, once for the Son, and finally for the Holy Spirit, according to White.
They married in December 2014 during a trip to Ghana. White and Cain exchanged vows for the first time in a low-key ceremony officiated by one of White’s Pentecostal mentors. Then, in April 2015, they married in front of a large crowd at an Orlando hotel for the second time.
