She expressed her pride in being his sibling since he did not debase himself by reading the unedited words of that “trash song.”
Online slander and abuse On September 20, 2020, Abigail’s fervor grew after her brother wrote an abusive Tweet about the LGBTQ community.
Ben added in the tweet that homosexuality and transgenderism were the results of a lack of control over one’s urges.
He even compared the situation to having a hot sister but having to control instincts.
Ben removed the tweet when it received a lot of backlashes.
It was, however, too late. When Abigail chose to remain silent about the subject, Twitteratis pointed out that her brother’s insinuation and hot sister analogy were harsh.
Trolls and vitriol came in the shape of scathing comments on her YouTube videos and emails.
Speaking about the hatred she had been receiving for her brother’s opinion, Abigail stated that she would have to live with the judgments and hatred for the rest of her life because people were aware of her and Ben’s relationship.
“Now that they know who I am, I’m going to be living with these kinds of things forever — people sending me gross stuff, I’d rather it not be something I deal with privately. My name is going to be linked with Ben’s — at this point or down the line.”
Furthermore, the opera singer was chastised for labeling Taylor Swift an SJW (Social Justice Warrior) and renouncing her fandom as a result.
