Before becoming a household name as the star of History Channel’s Mountain Men, the 56-year-old South Carolina native had a successful career as a topic of books, films, and even a radio show.

Mountain Men, a reality show about people who choose to live in the mountains away from modern technology, is now in its seventh season, which premiered on July 19, 2018.

Biographical Information on Eustace Conway: Age & Family

Eustace Conway was born on September 15, 1961, in Columbia, South Carolina, and graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and English. He comes from a long line of family members who have made a career out of teaching. Chief Johnson, his grandfather, is widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of American camping.

Karen Conway, the mother of the Mountain Men star, had a Master’s degree in education and was a nature lover who grew up in the isolated Sequoyah area. His father, Dr. Eustace Conway, was the one who instilled in him a love for hiking. His father, a chemical engineering professor, took him on a canoe expedition when he was only four years old.

When he was 17, the renowned naturalist went to the woods, leaving behind his parents and three siblings, Judson, Walton, and Martha, to live in a Tipi.

Eustace, 56, now lives on Turtle Island Preserve, a 1000-acre wildlife preserve and environmental center founded by the Eustace family in 1987, where visitors come to become closer to nature. Turtle Island not only serves as a leisure center but also hosts an educational program that teaches guests how to survive in the wilderness.

Eustace Conway’s net worth is estimated to be in the millions of dollars

Eustace makes money cutting firewood using archaic practices in addition to welcoming visitors to his property. However, it is widely assumed that his net worth has skyrocketed since he was cast as the leading man in the History Channel series Mountain Men.

Eustace had gained popularity for claiming to have set the world record for crossing the United States on horseback in 103 days when History Channel chose to make a series based on his daily adventures. Detractors maintained that it was Temple and Bud Abernathy, not he, who held the world record for crossing the United States in the shortest time possible, 62 days.

Regardless, his cross-country voyage drew enough interest for NPR to document it in an exclusive radio program called This American Life, anchored by Sarah Vowell and Ira Glass. More fame would soon follow, as he was credited as a key source of inspiration for Elizabeth Gilbert’s novel The Last American Man. Similarly, he was the focus of the Jack Bibbo documentary Full Circle: A Life Story of Eustace Conway, released in 2003.

Eustace has appeared in every season of History Channel’s Mountain Men, including 87 episodes.

His appearances on television and infrequent speaking engagements as a lecturer haven’t gone ignored, as he’s believed to have a net worth of $200,000.

Is Eustace married and does he have a wife? Is he alone, or does he have a partner?

The 56-year-old acclaimed naturalist isn’t even married to his wife, let alone has a life partner. Peterson Roberts, a buddy who appears on Mountain Men on occasion, is the closest thing he has to a partner.

As Elizabeth’s title says, he’s a true American!
