Alison Gorman holds nursing and broadcast journalism degrees from Northwestern and Georgetown, respectively. Before pursuing a career in health reporting, she first served as a nursing corps officer in the U.S. Navy.
Gorman joined the WPVI staff in 2008 and has since established himself as Philadelphia’s top health and wellness correspondent, particularly during the pandemic. She shocked her fans and viewers, nevertheless, when she revealed she was quitting 6ABC Action News.
September 30 marked Ali Gorman’s last day working at the station. A few days earlier, she had been doing her normal reporting, developing a story about nurses who were feeling burnout, and promoting flu shots.

Longtime viewers are shocked by her departure on 6ABC. Gorman thanked her coworkers and viewers but remained silent when asked why she is leaving. Gorman, whose two-year-old son Grayson was recently adopted, made mention of her “next journey.” But she hasn’t mentioned her destination or whether she has a new career in mind.
