Mike Zimmer is an American football coach who was named head coach of the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) in January 2014. During his time with the team, he has led the team to three playoff appearances and two NFC North titles. He formerly worked as a defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, and Atlanta Falcons, among other teams.
Coach Mike had a wonderful personal life with his wife, Vikki Zimmer, whom he married in 1982, in addition to his professional accomplishments. Unfortunately, he was devastated on October 8, 2009, when he returned from a practice session to find his life partner had vanished. Vikki died of natural causes, it was later revealed.

Mike Zimmer, a Peoria, Illinois native, was devastated when his wife died. And why shouldn’t he be? His 27-year-long life companion had passed away, leaving him alone.
Mike, being the consummate professional that he is, carried himself and coached his former team, the Cincinnati Bengals, three days after Vikki died. He gave a really moving address to his team’s players after the game, which they won, and he was even given the ‘game ball.’
Mike described his late wife as “lovely, compassionate, and caring” in an interview with ESPN. Mark has also formed the Mike Zimmer Foundation in honor of his late wife, Vikky, which focuses on improving the lives of children in need, just like his late wife used to do.

Mike and his late wife have three children
Mike Zimmer had several fantastic experiences while married to Vikky that he will never forget. One of the most significant of these occasions is when he became a parent.
Mike and his late wife Vikky Zimmer had three children together: a son and two girls. When Vikky gave birth to their son, Adam Zimmer, in 1984, Mike became a father for the first time. They were later blessed with a daughter, whom they named Marki Zimmer, in 1987. Corri Zimmer, their second child, was born in 1990.
Mike’s firstborn, Adam Zimmer, follows in the footsteps of his father and grandpa, Bill Zimmer. He is the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. Bill was a long-time football coach at Lockport High School. In August of 2015, he passed away.
